Match report An amazing team effort tonight from the boys in what ended up an extremely close game.

The team bowled well with 2 wickets again from Harrison and Elliott. Jack, Edward, Roman and Declan also taking wickets. Tom bowled a fantastic maiden in his first over and took two catches almost getting a 3rd. There was also a great catch by Finlay our wicket keeper. The away side were all out for 100 so it looked as if it should be a relatively comfortable win given how well our openers have been batting lately.

Tom and Harrison opened but unfortunately Tom was caught out on the first ball of the innings, Jack replaced him and was bowled out for just 6 runs. Harrison and Ryan formed a steady partnership, both looking comfortable and hitting some great shots, neither looked like they would be out any time soon and we were expecting retirements from them both. Harrison was bowled out by what looked like a no ball (no video replay or appeals allowed unfortunately) so it was down to our younger and less experienced players to try and see the overs out. We were up on the run rate at this point so it was still looking possible.

Finlay scored a respectable 12 before being run out and U9 Elliott batted the best we've seen him all season, hitting 16 and playing some excellent shots before a Yorker hitting his ankle then the stumps. Ryan ended the match on 35 runs, his highest score of the season so far but Roman deserves a special mention as he faced Petersfield's fastest bowler and held his nerve brilliant to ensure we went on to win the game.

Really proud of the team tonight, in what were tricky circumstances they kept calm and got a much deserved win!
