Match report The development side slipped to a disappointing defeat in a game they could, and perhaps should, have won.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors made a slow but steady start but after Josh Poole trapped Hover LBW in the 10th over, they preceded to falter to 56-4, with Mani bowling some great stuff. However, the big-hitting Wright took the game away from P&S, putting on 80 with Keeping before Mo Malik bowled the latter for 38. Wright went on to make 78 before John Eastment caught him at deep mid-on, and despite a few late wickets, some generous bowling and fielding helped Bedhampton and they passed the 200 mark in the last over.

P&S lost Giles Collighan in the third over after Barry bowled a beauty that nipped back in off the seam and clipped the top of off stump. Ollie Smith joined his dad at the crease, but runs were hard to come by on a lifeless track, and when Ollie was LBW to McIntyre in the 13th over, we had only moved on to 28-2. Gary Williams, back in the side after injury, tried to get us going with some lusty blows, but we continued to fall behind the run rate, and despite wickets in hand, only reached 100-3 in the 30th over. After Simon fell for 40, John and then Mani (20) tried to up the run rate but the damage had been done. 8 off the last 2 balls got us an extra batting point but ultimately we were 30 short having bowled 24 extras more than Bedhampton.

A decent game and more experience for us, if we can tighten up on the extras and not let teams get away we have shown we are capable of chasing 175+ anytime.

MOM: Great knock by Gaz, but for an opening 7 overs at 3-11 and a handy 20, Man of the match is Mani
