Match report The 2nds got back to winning ways on a stinking hot day at St James's. After Matt won the toss and elected to bat it was a rollercoaster innings. Clem and Rodg gave us a flying start reaching 70 from the first 10, before an upper order collapse saw us tumble to 106-6. A stand of 113 from Phil and Jacko led the recovery, helped by a lot of extras, some dodgy fielding and a couple of classy shots from Doug we made it to an impressive 245-8.
In reply after a steady start Trojans were always behind the rate. Jacko continued his impressive return to the side with the crucial first wicket, and the rest followed periodically as all the bowlers found their mark. Skipper Matt picking up 4 and Connor with 3 wickets led the way, backed up by some good catches and fielding. The game was up for Trojans, and after bizarrely giving up the chase early they were finally all out for 186.
A big win and maximum points against another mid table side, eases the pressure and hopefully we can now build on this over the next few weeks.
