Match report Bad day at the office.
Putting them in gave them a chance to build a 219 run opening partnership. As well as they batted, we were complicit in offering too many 4 balls and missing a couple of chances. We didn't manage a maiden in all 50 0vers. Jono was the pick of the bowlers and Rajeev tidy in his spell. Despite our most difficult 50 overs of the season, faced with a target of 330 we felt it was manageable at tea.
Sadly it proved not to be the case - our top score was extras. Some sumptuous shots through the covers by all the lads who made double figures simply were not enough. Their seamers bowled well and the field hung onto some crackers. The highlight of our innings was Jono's three card trick 6,4,4 - just before edging to the keeper to see us trumped by 200+ runs.
One to put behind us. It's a slip - get back on it next time out.
