Match report Another good performance but another brave defeat. Batting first we had a great start as Joel and Jack were little troubled and able to accept the extras on offer. Although our bats looked extremely secure the tight bowling soon dried up the runs as we were unable to get the strike rotating. Joel was first to deservedly retire in the 10th over. Lenny's introduction gave some imputus helping Jack retire after a good hand too. Unfortunately Lenny was run out "taking one of the team". Nevertheless our last two overs yielded 22. With almost 100 to defend we had a chance but needed their big guns early.
While we didn't make the earliest in roads we were very steady and were in it particularly when Lenny tempted their opener to find Jack's safe hands and Joel's calm thinking and quick reflexes got Lenny to break the stumps for a run out. Thereafter though despite taking it to the last ball of the penultimate over they got home.
With a bit more experience of how to play indoors we could be beating these good sides. Next time chaps...
