Match report With another very new side we knew it would be a tricky night but the lads did us proud. Bowling first, their top order hit well but we need to learn a little more urgency in the field(and dare I say be a little braver in some cases). However, once their top three had retired we got back into things. Callum picked up our first wicket thanks to Harrison's tidy hands and Lenny was quick thinking and handed to earn a run out. Our final wicket came off the last ball as Callum kept his wits about him to effect another direct hit run out. A quick mention should be given to Alfie who on debut kept wicket well with only a couple of byes.
Set 135 it was a big ask and we didn't get off the best of starts as Callum was run out in the first over. However, Lenny and debutant Edward made a great fist of keeping out their opening bowlers and got us moving well. When Edward finally picked the wrong ball to hit across, Tom joined Lenny and the pair weren't parted. Although we ended up well short of the target we can work on how best to make up the difference. Learning how to hit the sides walls (and run with confidence) will soon see us becoming competitive.
