Match report We fielded a team with 7 U15/U14 in order to fulfil this first U17 fixture of the season, and were well beaten.
Captain Harlan won the toss and chose to bat, unfortunately Jacob was run out early and Dimash chipped one up next ball. Harlan was bowled by a surprise straight one and we never recovered fully from 11 for 3. Jez picked up where he left off last U17 season and with help from Dan started to give the innings some respectability, once Dan perished Mani helped Jez push on further. Jez retired at U17 again - a top innings, and much needed. Sonny smashed a few boundaries and we had 102 from our 20, which was a low score in a 9 a side game but at least we had a total to defend.
Sarisbury started aggressively - a good tactic with 2 fielders less than normal and ran away with it. Dan took an early wicket, but apart from Jacob we didnt bowl well and with wickets in hand Sarisbury cruised home in 12.5 overs.
We fulfilled the fixture and everyone had some cricket.
