Match report On a loevely morning at Liphook's Elsted ground we were again hampered by unavailabilities and were put in to bat. Our chances of winning this one rested on our top 3, and Ollie and Harlan set about posting a decent score. They started well and we were 38 for 0 after 3. Ollie went in the next over but after that Harlan and Nick both made sure that they retired to set up the later batters. The middle and later order chipped in some runs and we had a decent 143 off our 20.
With runs on the board Captain Nick was able to give bowling opportunity to most and keep some of his powder dry (just in case it was needed). Liphook made a steady start and the No 1 was looking very assured. Nick brought himself on and made the breakthrough with a double wicket maiden, one wicket thanks to a tidy catch by Josh. Dan bowled the No 1 and we were looking good. Alex took a wicket with the help of Dan, before Nick went back to Charlie and Josh who wrapped it up for us.
We played well today, built a decent batting platform and then backed it up with a team bowling and fielding display.
