Match report The U15 season got underway with a trip to Privett Park, with us bowling first. The early bowling kept the run rate low as Gosport struggled to get going in typical early season fashion. Eventually Ollie made the breakthrough for us, and then another wicket followed quickly thanks to Mo's run out. This brought a more aggressive approach to the wicket before Ollie took another scalp with a running caught and bowled. Some late scrambling saw us set 114 to win.
We too struggled to get going and when Nick fell lbw we were 18 for 1 off 6. Ollie was just starting to get going when he holed out, we were now on 37 in the 10th over, needing over 70 off the last 10. Harlan perished going hard immediately, and it was starting to fall apart. Dan kept the innings together and eventually fell just two short of his retirement. The run rate was getting away from us but Freddie, Tom, Mo and Tristan all kept going gamely and we ended up 19 short.
With the more experienced players all playing regular adult and representative cricket this year the emphasis is to share the u15 cricket around the team (especially the bowling). To his credit Ollie managed this well, everyone had a bowl and most had a bat.
