Match report We managed a well constructed score of 174 against a Waterlooville side who have many more years to learn their games.
Batting first Freddie & Tristan calmly took virtually 3 per ball to both retire in quick time. Arthur was unlucky to crack a text book cover drive against the hard bit of the wall to be run out. Charlie though played his best innings to date, sweeping, driving and running well and also retired. Unusually the confident Lenny was bowled early in his innings. Oakley too batted with confidence but was unlucky for the second time running as he was again given out when the decision might have gone his way on another day. These wickets brought our openers back and saw Freddie crack 5 fours to be "hutched" again. Both Tristan and Charlie took the chance to pick up three a piece to post us a score in the 170s.
Facing such a big score with such an inexperienced side Waterlooville could have crumbled but to their credit they over came an early run out and a flurry of wickets to keep us at bay. Despite the efforts of all the bowlers and Arthur who had another good day with the gloves we couldn't pick up the last man as he resolutely resisted to deservedly carry his bat.
Nevertheless, the good alround performance from us gave us a strong win.
