Match report Our second outing saw a much better performance and us notch our opening win of the season. Being put in Freddie and Tristan played perfect indoor cricket using soft hands and running crisply to milk pretty much 3 per ball with few scares. After Freddie had retired the running became rather more hit and miss as first Tristan then Oakley perished to run outs. However, once Arthur and Charlie had got to grips with things they too scampered well - that is until Charlie middled a cover drive and ran to find the ball had beaten him back to the bowler! Lenny too joined in the fun and as we've come to expected did his job well. Arthur retired with a ball to go having Freddie back in to help Lenny to his final 3 a taking us to a very competitive 129.
We were quickly into our stride with the ball as Charlie bowled the opener with a beauty, Freddie followed suit in his first over and then combined with our very tidy 'keeper, Tristan, for a run out to see them 3 down. A second for Freddie got us to the brink but for a short while their no.4 played well, cracking Arthur for a big six before our man got his revenge. Belatedly bought into the attack, Lenny coolly stepped up to loop his first delivery through their last batters defence and wrap things up for us with the minimum of fuss. A job well done.
