Match report A strange game. Our opening bowler played the batting hand of the day to give a total to defend and our opening bat was the pick of the bowlers.
Batting first it was good to welcome back Harlan from injury but his evening didn't start as planned (although he ended it as we've come to expect) leaving Ollie and Dan to accumulate well through the first few overs. After Ollie was bowled round his legs Nick, debutant Muhammad and Tristan all helped the excellent Dan get us to a total that gave us a chance.
With the ball they started strongly with one opener retiring comfortably and the other nearly making it back but for great work from Dan to run him out. Nick's three overs really put a lid on the scoring and by the time Ollie had returned great figures (including a wicket maiden) with the help of catches from Nick, Muhammad and Tristan the pressure was really telling. Left 19 to defend off the last over Harlan found a perfect length and pace to beat the bat regularly and ensure we ended up victors.
A game that perhaps should have been beyond us was well won thanks to a top pressure building session in the field. We just need the batting to click again for our last outing.....
