Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Won by 30 runs

Match report P and S hosted Havant tonight in a play off game for the right to represent SEHCA in the County Cup semi finals.
We were able to welcome back Harry G and John B tonight, Harry won the toss and chose to bat. We started off well, Ollie was ticking the runs over and running well, Harry W was finding the boundary regularly and we had 53 runs on the board in 7 overs. Harry soon retired with a classy 35 no. Ollie was still going well, and was joined by John B, but we had a bit of a collapse and went from 60 for no wkt to 74 for 4, as we lost John, Harry G, Harry H and Ollie, and we still had 10 overs to bat. Harlan and Dan C then played risk free cricket getting us up to 100 before Harlan changed tactic, went aerial and perished, soon followed by Dan who was bowled. It was left to Dan T and Henry to push us up to 125 off our 20 overs.
On a difficult night for batting 125 was a decent total and presented Havant with a tough task. Harry H came flying out of the blocks and claimed a wickt in the first over clean bowled. Harlan took another in his first over thanks to a sharp chest height slip catch from Harry W. Dan T, Henry and Kyle all bowled some tight overs but the Dean sisters took Havant from 5 for 2 to 62 for 3 before Charlie Dean was bowled by the returning Harry H. Lauren Dean was unlucky to be run out taking on Harry W's throw from the boundary. Sonny came on to take the last of our wickets and Havant finished on 95 for 5 off their 20 overs.
Once again vital contributions from various team members saw us home on a difficult night. Thanks to the 1st team skipper for supporting the team and umpiring for us. A county cup semi final vs Hook awaits.
