Match report A difficult day at the office! Being put in their opening leggie had us in knots and 8 for 5! Theo joined the solid Tristan and started smashing boundaries. The adage "live by the sword, die by the sword" soon came true with Theo missing a straight one. That bought Charlie in. While Tristan and Charlie's running kept the next man in interested their batting was sound with both playing very well. Ultimately though one bad call and mid pitch meeting too many saw Tristan run out. Marcus and then debutant Lenny kept Charlie company for a bit while he smoked a six over mid wicket and a straight four. Before falling to the last ball of the innings Lenny made the 3rd top score with a particularly smart pull to show for this efforts. Closing on 85 we needed something special with the ball.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be. An early wicket from Charlie didn't quite open the flood gates as numbers 2 & 3 batted very well. It was the introduction of Marcus that put a spring in our step with first Alex then Josh taking excellent catches to see two wickets fall in his over.
Just before they crossed the line Aqib tempted their number 5 to find Josh's super safe hands .
In the end we were well beaten but the way we responded to a difficult situation was excellent and we'll be back.
