Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Lost 5 Wickets

Match report A good game of cricket which turned out to be The Rowan Dyer Show - sadly ended in defeat - for which the skipper (and writer of this report) should take some blame for not going defensive soon enough.

Batting started well enough with Owen and Ups finding the fence a few times each but the whole innings was really built around Rowan's hard hitting maiden ton for P&S.

Our defense of a decent April score saw GP swinging into action and causing real problems. However their openers batted very well to last his spell and those of Doug and Matt Williams who settled well into his first spell for us. Their opening stand of 100 was broken when Rowan was introduced and his added pace did for both of them. GP and Khalid each picked up a wicket as we got ourselves into the driving seat but some lusty hitting from their No4 saw Gary's final over go for 20 odd which gave them the imputus to sneak over the line 7 runs later off the final ball of the match.
