Match report At a time when i was starting to think id be the worst sunday captain in the history of PandS Cricket Club we recorded a decent win! JUST!

we bowled first and things were looking a bit iffy at 119-2, however we finally started to take wickets and pegged them back to 187-7, with the highlight a hat-trick for the mighty Doug Bullen (thats the one who plays, if anyones seen toby of late? maybe rips dog ate him?) Chappers dropped a sitter at slip to deny doug a five wicket haul, perhaps a big of karma working (il be sure to tell Roy). But a great spell at the right time. Ups won his personal battle with a very small lad who liked the cover drive with 3 slips and a gully in and he picked up 2 wickets. Rips and Chappers bowled well without reward early on.

Batting wise, we got off to a flying start with Sherm and Joe looking great all the way to 119. They both must have fancied umpiring or a chat with the onlooking first team skipper as they decided to get out. Matt with a good 42 and Joe with 62. The rest of us just didnt apply ourselves in the way we need to to win cricket matches even on a sunday with most players guilty of bad strokes.

Fortunately the sight of rips smacking one up in the air and being dropped allowed Dave Ups to smash a brisj 42 not out to take us over the line and allowed me to finally breath a bit easier with a win.
