Match report We lost the toss but got our way as Purbrook decided to bat. It looked like we were in for an exciting afternoon as the first ball was cut for four and 4th exploded past the batsmans lid and over Smudge for 4 byes. Don't you just love artificial tracks! It took us a few overs to get into them but a purple patch saw Deano, BMW, Duggles and Big Al all take wickets. Smart catching from Kes Dunstan, who had an excellent day in the field, Dan, and Mac was topped by catch of the day from Big Matt Williams who snaffled a welted drive low down, diving forward and to his left. It was therefore extremely frustrating that their 8th wicket pairing were able to hang around for 13 over to take them to a close of 145.
Our response began as theirs did with the first ball dispatched for four. Dan did as we've come to expect and despite their decent opening bowling attack took the game to them. The early departure of Simon had their tails up but OJ joined Dan and started to scamper singles and crack boundrays. Unfortuately one quick single too many was attempted and Dan was on his way. Shortly after Owen succumbed to their young spinner who got alarming bounce and gave it a real rip. Andy H joined the skipper and preceeded to show him how to play, driving and pulling well. Eventually SK found the middle and rattled off a few fours to bring us home with 11 overs to spare.

It was then off to ensure Deano had a good send off and a cracking night it was. It's a real shame he won't be around for the last two games (maybe only one - pleeease Amy?) since he has been instrumental in our acheviements this year. Cheers Mate.

We're nearly there - 26 points in the next two weeks will see us Div Winners and 13 points are needed to guarantee promotion. Still work to do though....
