Match report Batting first the brothers Malik played solidly with little risk to compile 23 runs. A couple of good catches cost both Ben & Marcus their wickets but both ran and struck well with Ben finding the ropes. More boundaries followed from Alex and Harrison to get us ticking (although Harrison was castled in the midst). Aqib crashed his first ball over cover for 4 and was unluckily to be bowled by a double bouncer (the opposition requested we allow those before we started). At the other end Charlie's flashing blade picked up 3 fours. Our final pair saw Harrison have a further go along side Tristan. The running and shot selection was key to the excellent partnership that yielded 5 boundaries and 38 runs in total with Tristan posting a classy 26 and Harrison the remainder. We closed on 305.
Harrison opened our bowling with a maiden while Marcus tested the shot selection in between. More tight stuff from young Umar helped build the pressure that saw consecutive ball run outs come thanks to Alex's cool head and Marcus's direct hit. Next up, while both Ben and Muhammad leaked the odd boundary both got scalps, Ben bowling his man and Muhammad taking a tidy C & B. The heat Alex generated was excellent with no width and Aquib started fantastically loosing the bails first up. As the last pair came to the crease they has 255 so we were well in control. The next over confirmed things as Muhammed watched Umar do great work to get a run out then bowled his man next ball and induced a hit wicket off his last ball. We managed one more run out thanks to a Tristan direct hit to the bowler's end and the final over saw Charlie collecting a wicket maiden as he bowled his man. A good win, well played all through out the season. The improvement we've watch has been marked.
