Match report Without Harry's G,W,H,L, Dan C and John our strength in depth was going to be tested tonight. Captain Joe lost the toss and we were asked to field.

Nick and Dan plugged away but we couldnt make the breakthrough and Portsmouths openers mixed running and boundaries and were looking well set with 38 off 6 overs. Mani was also unable to find a way through. Freddie came on to bowl an excellent spell and made the breakthrough for us. Portsmouths main bat retired soon after. Henry was also unable to find a way through, but Harlan slowed the run rate a bit and due to some sharp work by Ollie we ran out their No3. The last two bats ran well and pushed the score up to 137 for 2 off their 20 overs.

Ollie and Nick looked in little trouble early on but then Nick was run out, quickly followed by Joe being caught and bowled off the last ball of the 5th over. At 20 for 2 we were having a wobble. Harlan came in and took the attack to the bowlers retiring with 35no in 12 balls including consecutive 6's, meaning that at the end of the 8th over we had 67, but much was still needing to be done. Ollie was keeping his end going nicely but was then caught. We needed some batters to step up from the middle and lower order in order to be able to win from here, and up stepped Dan T and Freddie who with a mix of boundaries and strong running saw us home with a 60 run partnership.

Once again our strength in depth with the bat saw us to a win which looked highly unlikely at some points in the game. Dan T and Freddie stood up when their team needed them both responding well to the pressure of the situation.
