Match report To the surprise of no-one at all, Keiron lost the toss on a good pitch. Fortunately, Chris bowled his best spell of the season, taking the first 4 wickets including the dangerous Barnett. His dismissal ended Shrewton's best partnership, 48 with Gillott who left 9 runs later during another good spell from Matt W. In the 24th over, Keiron incurred a shoulder injury while fielding. This prevented him bowling any further overs and put a burden on his captaincy. Jenkins sustained the innings with a 42 ball fifty, but wickets continued to fall, including a magic leg spinner from Tom. Jono's dismissal of Jenkins helped the cause immensely.
Although Smithy went early to a good ball, Clem and Jack took the score on to 61 from 13 overs. Matt B went to another good ball before Sayeed helped Jack to add 54. Tom B and Jack then plundered 75 from 12 overs before Tom F finished the game rapidly with a flurry of boundaries and nearly 12 overs to spare.
Jack's terrific innings lasted just over two hours. The first 50 came from 50 balls and the second from only 33 and was the first team's first league century of the season.
