Match report Ellingham made a steady start in the sunshine with an opening partnership of 67 in 20 overs. Matt W broke the stand and went on to produce his best spell at this level. There was strange but inconsistent bounce, especially for Keiron and the home side never really dominated and never reached 4 runs per over.
We were interested what a new ball would do on a pitch that was unlikely to get any better and the news wasn't good. After 9 overs the score was 46 for 4, Shutler, the home side's fastest bowler having done most of the damage. Clem was unlucky again with a decision the opposite of last week's. Also, the sunshine disappeared.
Matt B and Krishan then added 63 in 12 overs of responsible batting. Krishan was out 17 runs later, having played his best innings for the first team. The smart money was still on a home win, but Tom (admittedly with some good fortune) and Mike saw their side home with a 71 run partnership in a match that could have easily been lost without determination. They batted for 17 overs and there were six overs left unused.
