Match report This was a welcome result on a far from straightforward pitch where the bounce was occasionally unreliable. Jack and Clem had 41 on the board in the first 9 overs, before the introduction of Coward brought problems for the batsmen. Five wickets were lost for only 33 before Sam and Rob effected a terrific repair job with 77 in 12 overs. Matt W helped Sam add another 29 to post a much healthier total than had looked likely. Clem and Rob fell to outstanding catches.
Portchester made a decent start and were 72 for 2 in the 22nd over when things started to go badly wrong. Keiron and Matt B took further wickets before Mike caused havoc on his first outing of the season in Division 1. At one stage, he took 4 for 15 in 35 balls, all clean bowled.The last nine home wickets fell for only 65 runs.
