Match report Winning the toss (or in this case; "rock, paper, scissors" due to no-one having a coin!) we chose to bat as usual. Ollie and Harlan flew out of the blocks running or finding the back wall off all but 2 of the first 12 balls. With retirement in sight Ollie clipped a catch to mid-on brining Dan C in. Harlan found it difficult to get to the strike but Dan kept things going with back wall hits and retired next. After Harlan picked up the couple runs he needed to get back Daniel T and Freddie both holed out. Henry settled to help the returning Daniel C keep the momentum going. When Henry was run out Dan was able to sneak a 3 before Harlan offered a caught and bowled off the last ball going for the wall. With 143 in the bag we were well set.
They started very positively with compact shot making and running but found Daniel T's extra pace less palatable. After their opener retired Henry picked up a wicket first ball with a well directed starter. Daniel C fired an arm ball through their next man but it was young Freddie that got us well in front when his tidy line and length saw their strong hitter hole out to a running Harlan then see Daniel T make another good grab to get shot of their dangerman. He was involved too when collecting Harlan's throw and relaying it to break the stumps in running out their top scorer. With time running out Harlan showed his class by castling their last man with the last ball of the match. Table toppers with 2 to go.
