Match report What a nail biter! By our standards we got off to a bit of a slower start than usual but Ollie, then Freddie and Harlan retired to set up a good total. As it transpired the quick couple of boundaries added by Will D and Henry right at the end gave us the extra we needed to make it over the line.
Our opening bowlers Henry and Mani kept a lid on things really well and Kyle was as tight as anyone picking up our first wicket in the 7th over. Over the next few overs they hit the gas though and although Will P was unlucky with a grassed catch off his bowling they set themselves up well for the big push. Daniel T bowling really quickly, helped us get back with a wicket maiden. Freddie did a great job with a direct hit run out, however the runs still continued to flow and their number 6 cracked a number of 4s to get them in the box seat. With 14 needed off the last two overs Dan saw the same guy crack a decent ball into the deep where Harlan took a great catch. It was left to Harlan to bowl the last over with them needing 7. We set the field back and saw a single taken off the first two balls. A direct hit run out from Ollie made the next a dot, a scampered bye and 2 off the penultimate ball saw them needing 3 off the last. A Yorker was dug out to Ollie who carefully picked up and returned the ball to Harlan who whipped off the bails to see us home by the skin of out teeth. Well played both sides.
