Match report A last ball thriller with 7 league debutants (four 13, one 14 year olds, Asif & Jim) plus "senior pro" Connor and Dad's Army (MP, MB & SK). A win was set up by our bowling and fielding performance with Harlan the pick of the bowlers but excellent spells from all and ball of the day from Asif. Keeping their powerful hitters to just 150 was a good team effort.
After sprinting out of the blocks thanks to taking 20 off the second over, solid building from Bergy then Mark in partnership with Harry and Jim who provided impetus then Harlan kept us moving despite their slow bowlers being hard to get away. When Daniel joined Mark at the crease there was still much to do. Careful shot selection and running saw us needing 11 to win off the last 2 overs. A tight penultimate set and the first ball of the last over saw Mark reach a richly deserved 50 but left young Dan with much to do. A sweetly struck 4 through mid on put us back in the box seat but a dot tested the nerves. A wide and a scampered 2 got us level with the last ball awaited. A clip through square leg gave Dan the pleasure of bringing us home. A really great team performance were all played their parts. Well done all.
