Match report A much better performance all round this week. The fielding and subsequent catching was far better than in the past couple of games and that was vital as the game progressed.

Clem and James laid an excellent foundation for us to accelerate towards the back end of our innings. Clem was solid and looked in no trouble and was out trying to up the rate for yet another 50 and James first 50 in league cricket was full of powerful strokes including one huge 6 down the ground on 0. A little wobble in the middle overs threatened to derail us, but howes, sayeed, doug and then a late flurry from chis rolling back the years with a cover drive to get started saw us get to 222 with some selfless but sensible batting.

in reply we took key wickets at key times. The spinners chis and howes were superb in ensuring the rate always remained a problem for a Ryde side that lost wickets at a steady rate until one guy got in and perhaps briefly threatened. We closed the game out well in the end and a fantastic result was a achieved by all.

Special mention for J Dog. He was top drawer in the field for support, enthusiasm and he fielded superbly as well as doing a job with the ball when asked. Well done mate.
