Match report With the double completed over St Cross II,it's clear that they are the weakest bowling side in the division, yet despite this they remain two places above P & S, with Trojans sandwiched in between, all with 4 wins. Perhaps the fact that St Cross's home matches with Bashley, Basingstoke, Waterlooville and South Wilts were all called off explains this.
They were put in and started well with 61 from 17 overs before the first wicket fell. The home bowlers kept chipping away and with 9 overs to go St Cross were 162 for 4, Lewis having taken two very good slip catches. He then took a wicket in his last over of off-spin before Jono and Alex returned to make sure the tail didn't wag.
The home team also got a good start with Jack and a rejuvenated Matt S making 53 in 12.3 overs. The young leg-spinner Fay, comfortably the visitors' best bowler then bowled Jack round his legs and dismissed Matt just short of a well-deserved 50. The in-form Tom F didn't last long and Tom B joined his brother at 93-3 (23 overs). They added 63 in 14 overs. Both looked in better shape by the time Tom skied to mid-wicket. The end came very quickly with Lewis battering 6 boundaries in 21 balls faced.
