Match report Waterlooville chose to bowl first and perhaps were regretting that decision when P & S had reached 80 for 1 at the first drinks break (17 overs). However, Tom was out in the next over (the first bowled by a spinner) after a partnership of 55 with Paul whose attractive and aggressive 50 came from 44 deliveries. This preceded a decline which began gradually and gathered pace. 170 for 5 soon became a disappointing 192 all out. None of the quicker bowlers operated after 25 overs.
The adverse weather never materialised and the Ville were 31 for 2 after 12 overs. At that point, Shephard joined Scutt and by the time the latter was out (immediately after the second drinks break !) for a well-made 90, 125 had been added and the game was up. Keiron and Chris Howes were both unavailable so Lewis's occasional off-spin was the only answer to the Ville spin attack and victory was achieved with 10 overs to spare.
