Match report Despite being short of an outrageous number of players, P & S gave Fair Oak plenty of problems before succumbing to yet another low-scoring and narrow defeat. The lack of substantial partnerships was again a feature of the batting and it was significant that the most fruitful combination was the 37 Tom and Chis added for the 9th wicket ! The toss was lost again. This condemned the home team to batting first on a damp surface. The Fair Oak medium pacers were difficult to get away, but despite this, Tom played his best innings for the club.
As at Waterlooville, there ws a sensational start to the opposition innings with Matt bowling Stewart first ball and then running out Bass with a direct hit in the second over. Chis and Chris took out the middle order and things were looking bleak for the visitors at 57 for 6 (17 overs) but Richard Featherstone took part in calm partnerships of 34 with Oxley and an unbeaten 28 with his brother to see them home with 10 overs to spare.
