Match report Congratulations to Ray and the boys for getting the ground and pitch fit for a match when many games in the league were called off. It was almost easier to hit a six (7 of them in the match) than a four (10 only) due to the slow nature of the outfield and lack of pace in the pitch.
Jack and Mike compiled a careful 93 opening partnership in 32 overs to set up a strong base, but the loss of 5 wickets for 20 in 11 overs derailed the innings. Matt and Tom added a busy 45 in 6 overs to set up a defendable total.
The Bashley reply was of a completely different nature. They looked in trouble at 75 for 5 with only 20 overs left, but Maher and the veteran Taylor put together 55 in 13 overs, gradually accelerating until Maher went at 130. Two more wickets fell and the last over began with Bashley needing 6 and P & S two wickets. Five balls were required to finish a very exciting and well-matched contest.
