Match report Firstly apologies for having to dash off before the end when a bit more support from me as coach could well have made the difference. That said every defeat is an important learning experience so lets do that and come back stronger.
Choosing to bat we set our stall out well with Harlan, Daniel C and Ollie all playing good hands to retire again. Will, Daniel T and debutant Harry played their parts too and ran well until caught just short in Will's case and Dan and Harry pushing things on. On his return Dan C quickly added 12 to get our seasons individual top score so far.
With the ball we got over a nervy start to effect a couple of run outs from the excellent Harlan and despite a good hand being played by their big gun we were in the game. Dan C's last over and Will P's two were fantastic and got our noses in front. A stumping off Daniel T and a wicket for the returning Harlan, bowling their no.6, saw their two main men back together. Some miscalculation (and the coach not pulling the strings) unfortunately saw our two best bowlers on the night, Will and Harlan, not bowl out which gave them the chance to see them home with some really aggressive running - a lesson we could learn. It was the extras again folks - they bowled 35, while ours helped them to 49. Next time then....
