Match report This game had more swings than a children's playground. Batting first, Hythe were 123 for 2 in the 26th over, but lost their last 8 wickets for 52, seven of them to the two off-spinners.
175 looked a very good score when P & S began their innings in poor light and showers, chasing a revised target of 161 from 39 overs on a freshened up surface. Shaikh's first spell of 6 overs produced only 6 runs and it was a real struggle for the home batsmen who made only 28 for 3 from the first 14 overs. Dan and Ian added 47 in nine overs, at which point Dan's vigil ended. Debutant Nick joined Ian and both played shots. Ian was bowled after a belligerent 42 ball half-century with 58 still needed from 11 overs. Sean concentrated on a supporting role as Nick assaulted the Hythe bowlers. His second six ended the match and brought up his own 50 from just 32 balls. There were still 32 balls left unbowled.
