Match report Another win, this time as close as it gets though.
Winning the toss and bowling on a green top was a good start and the way Alex Fletcher bowled was superb, ball after ball beating the outside edge. Our fielding was once again shocking, dropping another 5 or 6 chances. Their tail batted well to put on 50 more than they should have and ended up with a decent 209 total. We are always confident when Wally is in your team though, so the first time he has failed this season being bowled for 0 certainly wasn't an ideal start. Wickets tumbled in regular intervals and the game had gone, or so everyone thought at 105 for 7....enter the 8th wicket partnership of Seth and Tills who put on 70 odd and crawled the game back, but when Tills was out for 32 we were still requiring 22, Deano fell 2 balls later and we were 9 down with Jonno joining Seth, the game had gone again surely.... Seth thought otherwise and he then unleashed, hitting two large sixes and taking quick singles to level the scores going into the last over, one required....first ball, full toss, smashed over square leg for 4....Seth was superb with his 62* and we had won a game we didnt really deserve to win, but when you're top these games do tend to go your way, but we all prefer the 9 wkt wins for the stress levels. Improvements in the field are a must if we want to go unbeaten this season though.
