Match report P&S under 11s got their season off to a great start with a comfortable win against Portsmouth. Seth Jackson and Sam Collings-Wells batted very sensibly for P&S and both retired to allow Tom Farnworth and Phil Belcher to play their shots and with 45 coming off the last 5 overs P&S finished on 120 -4 despite some accirate bowling from Tom Kershaw and Henry Farrant. In reply Portsmouth lost early wickets to Belcher and Ed Hands and it was left to Jack Marston and Charlie Selway to rebuild the innings. The P&S fielding was excellent and the highlight was a stunning catch by Tom Farnworth. Portsmouth never really looked like keeping up with the required rate and closed on 69 -4 giving P&S a win by 51 runs.
