Match report Putting Hambledon in to bat we started steadily with Fin and Will but it was the next bowling pair of Aiden and Moni that really lit things up taking 3 wickets between them, only going for 8 runs in the 4 overs. Suni, Connor and debutant Matthew also got wickets and our out fielding was really good. "Buckets" Henry took a good catch in the deep, Ollie a couple of stumpings, Suni made one particluarly good boundary stop but star in the field was Aiden with a catch and some great ground work saving certain fours. All in all we had done pretty well keeping a good side down to 278.
With the bat Moni and Aiden gave us a good start both hitting boundaries with Moni's off-drive being the shot of the day. Matthew & Connor and Theo & Suni had a difficult time in the middle of the innings but applied themselves well after shakey starts. Our final two pairs of Ollie & Will and Fin & Henry protected their wickets and although they took the scores on from 212 to 242 they were never able to launch the boundary assult we needed to haul in Hambledon's score.
Nevertheless well played everyone. We showed flashes of really good cricket.
