Match report A win - thanks in the main to an excellent bowling and fielding performance. Being asked to field we were under the pump early on as Petersfield's openers hit strongly through the leg side but Henry's good ground fielding brought a run out. Mid innings we were looking at chasing a big one. However, the introduction of Robbie brought an immediate return taking a great caught and bowled in his wicket maiden. Connor then got into the act flighting the ball well and picking up two scalps with the help of Ollie's quick gloves. Robbie's safe hands helped Daniel be rewarded for bowling straight while Aiden & Kyle had great success again with flight and the Keepers gloves. Henry, Robbie and Will picked up the last three wickets, the first two bowling their man and Will's top edge being taken behind.
Chasing 41 to win Henry and Amir offered to open the batting. A brave move from Amir in his first game for us. Neither he nor Henry let us down. Robbie and Connor took the score on with Robbie hitting a good four. The strongest knock of the day though came from Dan who crashed 2 boundaries the best of which was a super shot through cover. Aiden and Tom took us to within 3 runs of their total with Aiden stroking a legside four. This left Will and Ollie to see off their top bowlers to win. A four over extra cover from Ollie and aggressive running from both lads got us in front by 11 going into the last over. Safe defence saw us home in a very well contested match.
