Match report This was almost certainly the best game of the season so far for the visitors who were in a commanding position three quarters of the way through the match, but it must be admitted that Fareham's fielding, and in particular, their catching, won the game for them.
Veteran Tony Tucker sustained the early part of the Fareham innings before Headen and Davey cut loose in the last few overs.
Pete and Josh began well, aided by a plethora of extras from wayward bowling, but a brilliant direct hit ran Josh out to make a crucial intervention and remove the man in form. When Pete was bowled by a shooter, an away win still looked likely, but good catching clinched the game for Fareham. Rips was caught trying to hit the last ball for six and a tie.
