Match report A good start to the season with what eventually turned out to be relatively comfortable win against a talented but young Locks Heath side. Rob and late call-up, Sean, opened up solidly taking little risk and finding the back wall when on offer & expanding as the innings developed. Both were back in the hutch at about the halfway stage. This gave the rest licence to run hard and swing as our score moved on a pace. George's run out is worthy of a mention as he managed to knee the ball with inch perfect precision back to the end he was running to, to be run out by half the track. Rob returned to hit the back wall a couple more times while yours truely got himself stumped off the last ball. Doh!
In the field we were a little rusty but in general our ground work was pretty good and the bowling decent. Ben returned the best figures and will improve as he learns the game. Varun and Rob likewise with Rob's wicket coming with the help of a tidy caught behind from Mr Evergreen. George was unlucky not to get amongst the wickets and Ben could have had a couple more but in the end it was left to "Mr Experience" 17 year old George who took us home with a tidy last over.
