Match report A well deserved win at last for a team that needed some last minute changes due to late withdrawls.
Portsmouth Comm. looked like posting a large total aided by some indifferent bowling but were pegged back once the boys had realised that short pitched bowling was being hammered and that pitching the ball up was the answer.
Chasing a reasonable score of 106, the battling Benfields set about the task with their usual rapid scoring style with Matt(who had turned up just to support) scoring a fine 45. This was well supported by a silky smooth knock of 37 not out by Sayeed to see us home with 3 overs to spare. All credit to Portsmouth Comm. who fielded excellently and bravely against some strong hitting from our lads. Now let's consolidate this result in the double header against Petrsfield next weekend
