Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Won By 55 runs

Match report An excellent win on a brute of a pitch where 80% of the balls never got above boot height and the rest were flying over the head.
Batsmen struggled all afternoon to get the ball off the square until, you can guess who, the terrible twosome, got their eye in.
Matt again retiring on 52 plus later taking a catch, taking a wicket and getting a run out and Tom unfortunately run out for 46 gave us a great platform, well supported by Ali Thorpe, run out off the last ball for 18, to post a demanding total of 142.
Although we again gave away too many extras, 29 in all, the bowling and fielding in general made sure that U.S. were always behind the run rate to ensure a comfortable victory. Yet again we were complimented on the sporting manner in which we played.
Congratulations to an overjoyed Chris Hillman for holding a catch, taking a wicket and scoring a run. Hope his Dad has calmed down now.
Best wishes for the future and many thanks for all their support to Matt Benfield, Chris Hillman, Harry Simister and Ali Thorpe as this was their final Colts game before moving hopefully to adult cricket for the club.
