Pleasure in achieving a highest-ever placing was tinged with regret for the P & S quiz team as they were 4 points ahead of regular champions Aldershot with just three rounds remaining. However, a tremendous fifth round from the champions put them four points ahead and although P & S clawed the gap back to three in the sixth round, another superb effort left Aldershot 11 points clear after the seventh and final round.
The previous highest placing for P & S had been equal third so second place and the distinction of beating Aldershot in five of the seven rounds were clear consolation for Mark and Simon Smith, Dave Peachey and John Townsend.
