The 1st XI came up short against a resilient Trojans side, falling to a 49-run defeat despite moments of promise. After an early burst by Jonathan Willey (3/34), Trojans rebuilt through a fluent 85 from Zaheer Khan, guiding them to a defendable 212.
In reply, Jack Davies (36 off 36) and Matt Benfield (33) made positive starts, but a game-changing spell from Luke Dimmick (10-1-38-5) dismantled the middle order. Despite a late effort from Malik Aftab Azwar (18), P&S were bowled out for 163.
2nd XI β Commanding Win Over Bedhampton by 122 Runs
P&S 2nd XI: 260/9 (45 overs)
Bedhampton Mariners 1st XI: 138 all out (32.5 overs)
Result: P&S won by 122 runs
Points: P&S 24 pts β Bedhampton 7 pts
The 2s delivered a dominant all-round performance to register a 122-run win. Krishan Patel shone with the bat, finishing unbeaten on 81*, well supported by George Wilson (52) and Sanka Purna (41).
The bowlers then shared the spoils, led by Sam Wheeler (3/22) on 2nd team debut and Matt Wheeler (2-1-2-2), who dismantled the Bedhampton tail. Sanka Purna also contributed with the ball (2/24), capping off a fine all-round display.
3rd XI β Hallatt Heroics In Strong Victory Over Follands
P&S 3rd XI: 230/9 (40 overs)
Folland 1st XI: 151 all out (36.2 overs)
Result: P&S won by 79 runs
Points: P&S 24 pts β Folland 8 pts
After a dominant opening partnership by Ollie Smith (46) & Harrison Whitworth (42), all worries of a collapse, which saw them go from 100/1 to 146/6, were laid to rest after a superb batting display from Sesh Nadathur (66*) This set the tone for the 3rd XIβs 79-run win. P&S finished their innings, posting a strong total of 230.
The bowlers then took over & Ben Hallatt looks and was on the day... sensational, claiming his best figures and his maiden five wicket haul (5/29) to dismantle the Folland top order. Contributions from Ryan Clarke, Louie De Bohan, and Shahid Hussain ensured a comprehensive victory.
4th XI β Beaten by Rowner by 8 Wickets
P&S 4th XI: 68 all out (30.3 overs)
Rowner 2nd XI: 69/2 (19.2 overs)
Result: Rowner won by 8 wickets
Points: Rowner 23 pts β P&S 2 pts
A tough day for the 4s, as a disciplined Rowner bowling attack bundled them out for 68. Only Mithus Roy (33) and Sam Bertenshaw (14) showed resistance against Mark Smyth (3/7) and B Pannell (3/22).
Rowner chased the target with ease despite two wickets falling, sealing an 8-wicket win.
