Match report Our 3rd win.
We were invited to bowl by a young Hambledon side, started tidily and kept a lid on the scoring throughout. Our first wicket came thanks to Tom's scampering and throw from behind the stumps before Sammy (who was tonight's bowler of the evening) collected a rare beast indoors - an LBW. His second wicket came after he had been hit for a six. His comeback was emphatic hitting the top of off with a quick one. To more run outs followed with Ishaan and Gully combining well for one and Tom again keeping a cool head. Their last man stand ran well but the good work by all the bowlers ensured their 12 overs only yielded 88 runs.
With the bat, for once, Gully rode his luck early on with running and calling a little less assured than usual. Ishaan too took a while to find a groove but with the extras working for us, both had time. When Ishaan retired with a straight 4 we were almost home. We did have time for Gully to also get back in the hutch (for the 4th consecutive game) before we went past Hambledon's score with 3 and a half overs to spare.
