Match report In bright sunshine, the P&S U11 team took to the field under Captain and birthday boy George Wildman. After a couple of expensive overs, the bowling attack settled and took their first wicket in the 3rd over. This rallied the team and with positive encouragement of each other and good backing up, they began to dominate, taking regular wickets and limiting the run rate of Liphook and Ripsley. A special mention goes to Dexter Farrow who bowled a wicket maiden in the last over of the innings. The visitors finished their innings on 89 for 5.
After a short break for drinks, the P&S innings began slowly and steadily with the opening pair assessing the bowling attack and playing themselves in. The middle order continued the good work with special mention going to Fin Dowdell and Tom Johnson who were unbeaten on 17 and 16 respectively. The final pairing maintained the momentum passing the run target with 10 balls to spare. P&S finished on 101 for 2.
With wicket bonus runs added the final tally was: Liphook & Ripsley 99, Portsmouth & Southsea 126.
