Match report Choosing to bat first we were soon under the pump from some quick straight bowling. Gully looked most comfortable, top scoring and hitting 4 boundaries and Finn kept him company for a good few overs. Devaansh too looked at ease until he gloved a pull behind. Sam was left as our last man standing and toughed it out for a good few overs before he became their opening bowlers 4th wicket for 4 runs conceded in this 4th over out of the 18 bowled.
With the ball Oscar got their lead bat to give Gully an excellent running catch in the first over. There followed some sensible batting but a few too many extras before Toby bowled the ball of the day to get their number 3, bowled through the gate. Unfortunately it was a case of too little too late and they cantered home 2 balls later.
The lessons today were: keep out the straight ones, as there will be other opportunities to score (they did that really well) and when bowling on a bouncy track bowl fuller, try to hit the stumps (as they did). Every days a school day :-)
