Match report Losing to a far more experienced side is no embarrassment particularly when we all showed how much we have progressed. Batting first Daniel and George took on the quickest bowler (who ran in from the boundary!) Henry and Harry battled players twice their size, Lucas and Samuel both found the boundary (and Lucas remained not out) while Teddy and Isabella played some lovely shots and were the only pair not to lose a wicket. It should be noted too that they had 10 fielders which makes the small boundary harder to find.
Highlights of our bowling were Harry's 2 overs for only 6 runs, Lucas with an almost as tight set of two overs and a wicket thanks to an excellent running catch from Samuel. All the bowlers who bowled at their last pair took a bit of tap but this was because we bowled good length, straight balls which allowed the big, confident batters to play their shots - which they did very well. As we develop and move into hard ball cricket those same balls will take wickets so I think it was a job well done. George had the last say of the long evening as his and the last ball of the match was dragged on to his man's stumps.
