Match report Another night of "if only we'd grabbed a few more runs". A bit of urgency in our running or getting our hands right through when we are shot making and we could have rattled up another 20 runs of so - which might have been enough.
Ollie and Will started well but we lost Will to a good catch from a well struck pick up. Owen and Ollie built steadily with Ollie cracking a few boundaries but a flurry of wickets from some straight and quick bowling saw us lose Ollie, Owen, Charlie and Ned in a rush. Ryan stemmed the tide a bit and struck the shot of the evening with a straight lofted drive but when he was run out and Josh was beaten by a cracker early on in his stay we were on the ropes. Step forward Dylan and Gia who firstly repelled then got on top of the bowling, both finding the ropes and leaving the field each unbeaten.
In reply P&S old boy Tom swashbuckled himself to a hurried retirement (to got with his catch, run out and wicket). With him back in the hutch we regained some control with Gia picking up the other opener in a good early spell and Ryan going for only a single off his two overs. Everyone bowled well and when Will took a good caught and bowled we had a sniff. However, the damage had been done in our not quite ekeing out enough runs and our opponents aggressive opener. However, all in all there were some real positives again and we know what we need do to return that elusive win.
