Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Lost By 17 runs

Match report Just over a week after our last contest and we came up against Fareham.
We batted first on a typically green astro turf as Charlie and Joe walked into open up for us. They provided us a very solid start once again judging well when was best to play and when to leave. After their spell at the crease we were on a healthy 26-1. Next in was the Patel sisters who used their sibling telepathy to run and call very well. Unfortunately Gia was on the receiving end of some good catching from some strong strikes and Sanna wore one on her last ball (but took it like a trooper!) As final pair Tom and Ellis walked in the score was 49-4. Tom lead from the front by adding real impetus to the innings by running well with partner Ellis. The pair made the most of their 4 overs by adding 33, helping us finish on a good score of 82.
We kept it very tight with the ball early on and in particular Joe, who was on a hatrick in his first over. As a bowling attack we never let the opposition get away from us meaning after 8 overs the team were at the same score of 49. However, the final Fareham pair took the attack to us, hitting a flurry of boundaries pushing their total just above ours.

But yet again our young guns put in a very good performance and all the potential is there. One more to go, lets enjoy it!
