Match report P & S won the toss and decided to bat first.
Umar faced 6 dot balls, then an early exit from Lenny showed this was clearly going to be a totally different game from the previous. Cameron came to the crease & with Umar they started to score the runs it still wasn’t looking good as at the fourth over we only had a score of 6, compared to are usual 20 or more. Next came some very untidy bowling from Purbrook so the boys took advantage of that and this is when the game started for us, change of bowler then unfortunately are second wicket Cameron out for a good 15. Ben next came out keeping the singles ticking over until he hit the boundary, unfortunately out next ball. Umar had continued to score and retired again at 41. Harrison & Tom then took over, with ten overs to play with Tom made the most of that, hitting the fours, Harrison up the other end scoring a healthy 16, both of them running hard to get the singles and keep their wicket. Tom hitting 34 runs of 30 left us finishing on a great score of 140.
Purbrook out to bat, our bowling got off to a great start with the opening batsmen run out by a great bit of fielding from Elliott hitting the stumps from 20 yards. The second batmen was bowled by Harrison E. The 3rd batsmen was looking strong & scoring 27 before he was edged behind to Tom off Umar’s bowling. Umar bowled out his 4 overs taking 3 for 17. James Curwood came in confident taking first ball wicket. Some steady bowling from P&S meant that even though it was a much more even game, Purbrook still couldn’t quite reach our great target of 140 runs. So yet again another win on the score board, well done lads.
