Match report Winning the toss, our innings got off to a flyer with Davo finding the cover rope a number of times. A rash of quick wickets left Tristan and Jacob a rebuilding job which they did with aplomb. It was 96 runs and 12 overs later when they fell a ball or two apart in the 19th over in which we lost 3 wickets for 8 runs. We were seen home with an over of singles by Charlie and Umar. That our total was competitive was down entirely to Tristan and Jacob's controlled building and expanding innings.
Ball in hand Dan's pace was up, beating the openers pull with a climber and seeing off 3 and 4 with full straight ones. Their other opener was batting beautifully and it was a surprise when he feathered a cut off Charlie's legspin. That was the turning point as their runs dried up. Both Charlie and Jack produced good ones to castle their men and pressured running meant Ollie at cover could effect a couple of run outs with Tristan's help. Man of the Match, Tristan capped a cracking all round performance with a sharp stumping off Mani. After a couple overs from Muhammad, Alex rounded things up bowling their last bat with 8 balls remaining.
So, a finals day berth awaits us on the 23rd August and a semi final against perennial contenders St Cross.
